FAQs

Do I need insurance? What is the cost?

All patients are covered under the CARES act at no cost to the patient. All forms of insurance accepted and uninsured people are covered as well. For antibody test, there is a $50 cost per test. All other tests are provided at no cost.

What is a nasal test?

A nasal test is a method the team at Test 4 Free uses to check patients for COVID-19. The nasal test takes only about five minutes and can help you get the answers you need to protect yourself and those around you.

COVID-19 is a disease caused by the novel coronavirus known as severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2).

Discovered in 2019, SARS-CoV-2 spreads easily from person to person and may cause serious respiratory infections in high-risk individuals, such as the elderly or people with preexisting health conditions.

The virus has infected millions of people throughout the world. The team at Test 4 Free offers no-cost coronavirus testing for those living in and around Atlanta to help stop the spread of the virus.

When should I have a nasal test?

Your primary care provider or the team at Test 4 Free determines when you should have a nasal test for COVID-19. Early detection and isolation may help contain the virus.

You may benefit from a nasal test for COVID-19 if you’re experiencing symptoms such as:

Fever
Shortness of breath
Loss of taste or smell
Body aches
Cough
Runny nose
Fatigue
The team may also recommend the nasal test if you’ve been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for the virus.

What happens during a nasal test?

Your provider at Test 4 Free reviews what you can expect during your nasal test at the time of your testing. The nasal test is an efficient test that takes only about five minutes to complete.

During the test, your provider inserts a swab into your nostril to your nasopharynx, which is the area between your nose and mouth. Your provider rubs and rolls the swab on the tissue to saturate it with mucus, and then withdraws the sample and places it in a secure specimen bag.

Test 4 Free uses the molecular-based rT-PCR (reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction) to test your sample. The rT-PCR has the highest specificity for detecting COVID-19, which means you’re less likely to get a false negative.

How long does it take to get results from my nasal test?

Your provider at Test 4 Free gives you details about when to expect the results of your test. The nasal test offered at the coronavirus testing center isn’t a rapid test, so it may take 24-48 hours until you get your results.

What is the rapid antigen test?

The rapid antigen test is a rapid diagnostic test for COVID-19 that takes no longer than 15 minutes for results. This test detects whether or not you are currently infected with COVID-19. The rapid antigen test is a nasal swab and at no-cost.

The team provides specific guidelines for how to protect you and those you love while you wait for your test results.

What is the rapid antibody test?

The rapid antibody test is a rapid diagnostic test for COVID-19 antibodies that takes no longer than 15 minutes for results. This test detects whether you have antibodies for COVID-19 from a prior infection or the vaccine. The rapid antibody test is conducted via finger prick and comes with a $50 charge.
